Anila received her B.S. in Psychology from the University of Manitoba, with minors in Biological Sciences and Public Health, graduating with Distinction. Her academic and research interests centre on psychopathology and clinical research, with a particular focus on mental health, psychotic disorders, disability, and psychological well-being. Through her research experience, she has developed an interest in understanding the mechanisms underlying severe mental illness and contributing to research that can improve mental health outcomes.
Anila hopes to pursue medicine in the future, with a particular interest in psychiatry. She is passionate about working with individuals with mental health conditions and disabilities and is committed to promoting compassionate, inclusive, and evidence-based care. Outside of her academic and research pursuits, Anila enjoys event planning, travelling with family and friends, spending time outdoors, and creating art.
